Yagzore Community has secured a spot in the semifinals of the 2026 Ramadan Soccer Fiesta for the second consecutive time, after edging out Gumbisi Zongo 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
The early stages of the game saw Gumbisi Zongo take the lead, capitalizing on a defensive error that forced the goalkeeper of Yagzore Community to venture out of his line but could not stop the ball from entering the net. The lead was short-lived, as Yagzore equalized through Zolar, who headed in a beautiful cross from Zing Simon.
Yagzore Community took the lead just before halftime, thanks to Suguri Francis known as Messi, who scored a well-taken goal assisted by Zolar. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of Yagzore Community.
The second half saw Gumbisi Zongo pushing hard, and their efforts paid off when they equalized through a set piece.
The game was level.
Coach B.B Michael (Jah Bless) side had other plans as Simon’s powerful shot was saved by the goalkeeper but Suguri Francis(Messi) was on hand to tap in the rebound, restoring Yagzore’s lead with the game ending moments later.
Zolar was adjudged the Man of the Match, and rightfully so. His contribution to the team’s attack was immense, and his assist for the second goal was a highlight of the game.
The win sets up a semifinal clash with Bukere, who trashed Zaare 4-0 to book their spot in the last four on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
