The 600 Meters Winkongo Stretch on the Bolgatanga-Tamale Road which was a worry to residents and motorists is finally given a facelift after months of reconstruction on the road.

Myturn Construction company and contractors working on the road, are currently putting a prima seal ( First coat) on one side of the road as part of the reconstruction to Bitumen.
In addition to the 600 meters Stretch of road ongoing, two access roads of 50 Meters linking major communities will be included in the project.

Before the contractor begun work on the road, a lot of road crashes were recorded on this particular stretch of road due to its poor state.
Residents living along the road suffer cardio and air pollution related diseases as result of the dust eminating from the road when vehicles use the road.
Weeks before the commencement of works, youth in Winkongo staged a mammoth demonstration and protests to register their displeasure on the state of the road with rampant road accidents as well as the heath of residents are concerned.

This development has calmed the fears of residents and road users of their concerns been addressed and urged the contractor not to abandon the work half way, else the road will deteriorate further though some works have started.
