The club from Sheaga in the Talensi District topped the league table with a win over Bolga United in their last game,taking their points tally to 18 points, capping a remarkable season.
The Stars, who were relegated to Division Three last year, began their campaign with a 3-2 win over Bolga United at home. They followed it up with another 2-0 home win against Black Arrows, before a goalless draw against Kongo United – a match they later won 3-0 on protest due to kongo United fielding ineligible players.
Despite a tough loss against Black Arrows (2-1) away at Mobil Astro Turf which was emotionally charged following the loss of their able defender, Sylvester Aboney, Coach B.B Michael’s Sheaga Golden Stars bounced back strongly to beat Zuarungu FC 1:0 at the ZUSHS school park.
Today’s 1-0 win over Bolga United sealed their promotion, with the team having lost just one game all season.
The team under the outstanding leadership of Team manager ,Ba-engmah John Adanyina Alia affectionately known as Temperature and the C.E.O and Bank roller of the club Dr. Christ Guuri Bambey with massive sponsorship from C and G builders,the club had a decent campaign losing one game and keeping 4 clean sheets in the process.
This promotion is a massive achievement for Sheaga Golden Stars and a proud moment for the people of Sheaga and Talensi District at large. As they prepare for Division Two next season, the Stars appreciate everyone for the massive support for the team in this season and the season ahead.
