Boga Central Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Isaac Adongo, has redeemed all outstanding financial pledges made towards the 18th edition of the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta during a meeting with the organizing committee and community representatives today.
Hon. Adongo stated that he has been supporting the competition for 13 years. He disclosed that GH₵10,000 was given to the organizing committee earlier to aid with preparations and logistics for the 18th edition of the tournament.
In fulfillment of his other commitments, the MP today presented GH₵1,000 to each of the 16 participating communities .He also handed over GH₵4,000 to the referees, GH₵3,000 to the competition winners, and GH₵ 2,000 to the runners-up. Four sets of jerseys for the semi-finalists and one football for each community had already been delivered prior to today’s meeting.
Organizing committee member Mr. Harrisu Laminu expressed appreciation to Hon. Adongo and prayed for his continued support in future competitions.
Speaking on behalf of the 16 communities, Mr. Brown of Soe community said they were happy the MP had fulfilled his promises, adding that the funds will go a long way to support their organization towards the Ramadan Top 8. He further appealed to the MP to intervene in the poor state of the morbil astro turf currently being used for the competition.
Hon. Adongo also addressed the injury sustained by a player from the D-Line community during the tournament, noting that plans are far advanced to visit the player. He concluded by pledging his full support for the upcoming Ramadan Top 8 competition scheduled for late May.
