The Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area, Tongraan Naab Kugbilsong Nalebegtang, has issued a firm reminder to political actors that the traditional skin remains a neutral ground dedicated solely to the progress of his people.
Speaking during a courtesy call by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as part of a “Thank You” tour in the Talensi Constituency, the Overlord emphasized that while his doors are open to all, the conversations must center on infrastructure and socio-economic growth rather than mere political rhetoric.

Naab Kugbilsong Nalebegtang acknowledged the efforts of the ruling government in remembering the people of Talensi. He specifically highlighted the ongoing works on the Sheega-Tongo road, noting that while the presence of a contractor on-site is a positive sign, more needs to be done to bring the project to completion. “My palace is open to all political parties for developmental issues and not politics,” the Paramount Chief stated emphatically.
The Overlord argued that the Talensi District serves as a strategic “gateway” for the Upper East Region. Due to its geographical and economic importance, he maintained that the district deserves a significant share of the national cake.
Concluding his address, the Tongraan assured that the traditional authority would support any agenda, regardless of the party in power, that focuses on job creation and sustainable development. He stressed that the future of the youth in the district and the region at large depends on tangible opportunities rather than political promises.
