The Upper East Region Division 2 Middle League goes to the wire this week, with Match Week 5 serving up three zonal derbies that will decide who climbs to Division 1 and who grabs the final FA Cup slot. It’s a week of Zonal rivals, fine margins, and head-to-head.After four weeks of twists, it all comes down to the last 90 minutes.Join the excitement at the Technical center at 3:30 pm each day from Thursday 23 April 2026 to Saturday 25th April 2026

LIBERTY STARS vs STARS
On Thursday,23 April 2026,the battle for the last FA Cup slot starts.Liberty Stars, led by Coach Mboma, sit 4th on 4 points with very impressive performance in their debut season in the middle league while Paga Crocodile Stars breathing down their necks with just a point. This is a true zone 3 rivalry match. In the regular season, Paga Crocodile Stars won the first leg 2-1 before Liberty Stars hit back hard with a 3-0 win in the reverse.

Form slightly favours Coach Mboma’s Liberty Stars, but Paga Crocodile Stars know a win today changes everything. With only one FA Cup ticket left for the last three teams in the league, this is a final before the final. Atuah Mathew will be the center referee for this game.

ZORKOR UNITED vs SAMBA STARS

The Zone one derby serves its main course on Friday. Zonal champions Zorkor United face runners-up Samba Stars in a derby that could bury or revive promotion dreams.

Zorkor United did the double over Samba Stars in the zonal phase and have been stronger in the Middle League with 3 wins from 4, losing only to Berekum City. Samba Stars are winless in four but have improved game by game. Derbies don’t read tables.

ZorkorUnited’s path is narrow: beat Samba Stars and hope Soccer Masters defeat Berekum City on Saturday. Drop points and their Division 1 dream is over. Samba Stars are also eyeing the last FA Cup slot, so they won’t roll over.

Speaking on Ura Radio,Karim Atindana the communications Officer of Zorkor United on the club’s approach said, “We are not chasing qualification at all costs. If it comes, we take it. If not, we go back and prepare for next season. We take education very seriously. Some of our players are in school and don’t always get time to train, but we believe education must go along with the football we’re doing. First we must beat Samba Stars, then we pray Berekum City and Soccer Masters drop points.”The center referee for this game is Oliver Tetteh

*BEREKUM CITY vs BOLGA SOCCER MASTERS*

Coach Emmanuel Azudaa’s Berekum City take on *Coach Cumba’s* Bolga Soccer Masters with Division 1 on the line. Both sit on 9 points, level with Zorkor United, but this game decides it all.

These two teams topped Zone 2 together with the masters winning the zone, but Berekum City have had Bolga Soccer Masters’ number this season, winning both head-to-head clashes by 1-0. That record now puts them in the driver’s seat as this fixture last season saw Berekum City win by 1-0. The center referee is Mohammed Alhassan.

Salifu Yakubu Afangya , Berekum City’s Communication Officer didn’t mince words on Ura radio saying “Berekum City is not turning back. The great Berekum City is focused and we will tell the boys what is at stake. We know our destiny is in our own hands and we want to win and qualify for Division 1. Last season we lost out on Division 1 because of head-to-head when we lost against All Stars. To be the best you have to beat the best, and Berekum City are poised to beat Soccer Masters on Saturday and qualify.”

After five weeks of action, the Upper East Region Division 2 Middle League has delivered on every promise. One Division 1 ticket. 4 FA cup slots .At this point any team that qualifiers to division 1 haven’t gotten it easy. The venue for all matches is the technical center at 3:30 pm each day.
