The journey to Division one takes shape as the Upper Division 2 middle league enters Match Day Two

The Upper East Division 2 Middle League is gaining momentum, with Match Day 2 underway. The first round of matches delivered very entertaining encounters, showcasing solid defensive displays from almost all teams with just four goals scored from three matches with 2 clean sheets in the process.

Berekum City kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Paga Crocodile Stars, courtesy of captain Manasseh’s header from a set piece. Zorkor United edged out Soccer Masters 1-0 through a freekick after Soccer Masters went down to 10 men while Liberty Stars settled for a 1-1 draw against Samba Stars.

In Match Day 2, Soccer Masters bounced back with an emphatic 3-1 win over Liberty Stars, recording their first win in the league. Liberty Stars, on the other hand, remain winless after two matches with just 1 point out of possible 6.

Today 3rd April, Paga Crocodiles Stars take on Bongo Samba Stars at the Technical Center. Both teams are looking to secure their first wins, with Crocodiles seeking to avenge their loss to Berekum City and Samba Stars aiming to build on their draw against Liberty Stars.

Tomorrow, Zorkor United face off against Berekum City in a highly anticipated match. Both teams won their opening matches, but Berekum City’s consistency and past form make them favorites to win. However, Zorkor United’s unbeaten streak this season makes them a team to watch.

Communication officers from both teams, Karim Atindana (Zorkor United) and Salifu Afangya (Berekum City), indicate that their teams are geared up for a win. The outcome of the Upper East Division 2 Middle League match day 2 will be decided after 90 minutes of the last game of the week.

All matches are played at the Technical Center in Winkongo at 3:30 pm each match day. Who will top the league after Match Day 2? Stay tuned!
