Hon. Stanley Agame Applauds New Borehole Project.

Residents Ayaamabiisi Clan of the Balungu Electoral Area are celebrating a major milestone in their quest for clean water. During the official commissioning and handing over of a new borehole, Hon. Stanley Agame Paul Nyaaba, the Assembly Member for the area, expressed profound gratitude to the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the Member of Parliament (MP) for fulfilling a long-standing promise.

Reflecting on the challenges previously faced by the community, Hon. Stanley described how the geography of the area often left residents stranded.

“Initially, this place was more or less a cut-off area,” He explained. “Whenever the rainy season arrived, the valley would become incredibly muddy, making it impossible for residents to travel to fetch water. They were forced to rely on open wells, which frequently collected dirt and particles during the rains.”

The community had long resquested the Assembly for a sustainable water source. According to Hon. Stanley Agame, the turning point came last year when the DCE requested that the community identify a suitable site for a borehole.

“I chose this location, though at the time, I wasn’t sure if it would actually happen. I thought it might just be talk,” He admitted. “But around Christmas, the DCE called to say they were coming. They arrived, sank the borehole, and completed the installation. It was a wonderful holiday surprise.”

The newly commissioned borehole is expected to serve not just the immediate vicinity, but also neighboring households who previously struggled with water security.

“I am very, very happy. Now, the water problem is a thing of the past,” the Assembly Member stated. “I want to sincerely appreciate the District Assembly, the DCE, our MP, and the government for providing this borehole and improving the lives of my constituents.”
