The search for a new coach for the Black Stars has gained momentum as the countdown to the World Cup continues.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sacked Otto Addo, who became the fifth coach to lose his job under the regime of GFA President Kurt Okraku after losing four international friendly matches.
Reports indicate that a compensation of over $800,000 has been paid to the sacked coaches that were fired.
The Ghana Football Association has received over 500 applications for the vacant Black Stars job, with several high-profile coaches suggested to fill the position.
Some of the names mentioned include James Kwesi Appiah, who is said to have declined the job due to his current role as the Sudan national team coach .Walid Regragui, the former Moroccan national team coach, is rumored to be uninterested in coaching in Africa right now. Herve Renard, a two-time AFCON winner and a long time admirer of the Black Stars job is currently coaching Saudi Arabia and would have to resign from his current role before taking the Job as Black Stars Coach.
Other contenders include Tom Saintfiet, the Mali coach. GFA President Kurt Okraku has promised to appoint a coach within one to two weeks, stating that the Black Stars deserve a coach that matches their quality.
With just 71 days to the start of the World Cup, the GFA is under pressure to make a decision quickly. The stakes are high, and the right appointment could be crucial in Ghana’s quest for World Cup success.
