Cardinal Namdini Mining Company Limited has part of its efforts in developing the human resource in the mining industry through local content has once again trained and equipped thirty energetic young people from the Talensi District of the Upper East Region on practical technical skills in Plant Operations and Maintenance, in collaboration with its esteemed partner, GDCL.
Vice President, corporate Social Responsibility and Security, at Cardinal Namdini Mining Company Limited, Mr. Qi Xuanya, said the program aims to equip selected youth with practical technical skills in Plant Operations and Maintenance, and over the next two years, trainees will gain hands-on experience and exposure to prepare them for meaningful employment in the mining sector.
Mr. Qi Xuanya also expressed his gratitude to the communities and again thanked the community leaders for their vital role in identifying and supporting these young people.
” Involvement ensures that this program aligns with the needs and aspirations of our communities and we shall do all our best to ensure our host communities benefit from our programs”, he said.
Miss Jemima Ofori, at the human resource department of Cardinal Namdini mining company, added that the program is aimed at helping the Youth of the Talensi Traditional Area with the practical know-how to fit well in th mining industry where physical and practical activities plays key roles in developing the natural resources in the area.
“The initiative by Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited marks a significant step toward empowering the youth of Talensi with practical skills and real opportunities in the mining industry. By investing in training, collaboration, and community involvement, the program not only builds capacity but also creates a pathway for sustainable employment and development in the region”, she said.
The trainees were very excited for this opportunity extended to them by the Cardinal Namdini Mining Company and that, this will go a long way in reducing unemployment and poverty in the Upper East Region.
Cardinal Namdini Mining Company has trained hundreds of youth in various fields in the mining value chain since its existence in the Upper East Region and the majority of the trainees are now part of the workforce of the company which further strengthens the local content component of mining in Ghana.
