In a powerful address delivered at the Tongo KG/Primary School park, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya joined the chiefs, educators, and citizens of Talensi to mark Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebrations. Under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” his speech emphasized that national progress is a deliberate act of leadership, education, and community collaboration.
Hon. Nabwomya opened by reflecting on the 1957 declaration of freedom, noting that true independence is anchored in dignity and shared prosperity. He reminded the audience that hope is not a passive emotion but a result of visible progress. Moving beyond political declarations to create “people-centered governance” that bridges the gap between the national level and the grassroots.
A significant portion of the address was dedicated to the spirit of collaboration within the district. Hon. Nabwomya lauded the synergy between local leadership and the national legislature.
The District Chief Executive expressed deep appreciation for the Member of Parliament’s advocacy and his role in facilitating national projects for the constituency. He highlighted the MP’s personal commitment to education, specifically his decision to use private resources to reward the district’s most dedicated educators. To motivate the teaching body, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya and the MP presented awards to outstanding educators across various categories, including; Overall Best District Teacher, Best Kindergarten (KG) Teacher, Best Primary Teacher and Best Junior High School (JHS) Teacher

He again highlighted a significant statistical victory for the Talensi District regarding the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results:
2023, 40.18% and in 2024, 47.47%, a +7.29% increament. Hon. Nabwomya praised the 1,452 candidates for their determination, reminding them that their background does not define their destiny—only their determination does.
Concluding his address, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya called for a renewal of the patriotic spirit. He urged the people of Talensi to:
Strengthen communal unity and peace.
Commit to diligent, hard work.
Support collaborative governance to ensure prosperity reaches every household.
