On February 19, 2026, the CID operation team led by ASP Mr Eugene Adongo arrested suspect Arafat Bukari, age 25 years at his Walewale hideout and brought to the Regional Command,Upper East Region .
The suspect and four other accomplices are on police radar for a series of highway robberies , thus Bolgatanga, Tamale, and Kumasi road .Somewhere last year, December 2025, he and his gang attacked and robbed market women and mobile money vendors in a broad day light, resulting in the killing of pregnant woman.They also master mining the killing of police Constable at Karaminga police checkpoint and stollen his AK47 rifle and bolted with it.Suspect is detained for further interrogation and investigation.
The highway has seen a series of robberies and attacks in recent times, but according to road users and residents along the highway, say, the insecurity on that stretch of the road will be better with the arrest of Arafat Bukari.
