Navrongo Police Arrest Man For Setting Family House ablaz
The Navrongo Divisional Police Command has arrested a young man at Kawurania, a suburb of Katiu in the Kassena-Nankana West District for allegedly setting his family house ablaze.
The suspect, identified as Ayerikojei Kudiba, and believed to be in his 20s, is in police custody assisting with investigations after the inferno razed down the family house and its content to ashes.
Even though no casualties were reported, the affected family members were devastated by the act.
Information gathered from community members at the scene by Gumzang News suggested that the suspect’s alleged action could be influenced by substance abuse.
The Police, however, did not confirm or comment on the claims, but said investigations were underway to determine the full facts.
Madam Veronica Ajediwe, the mother of the suspect, recalled that her son stole some electrical cables in Kumasi sometime ago and a curse was placed on him.
According to her, “This is the second time he behaved this way. The first time, he tried to kill someone. So the family beliefs that his actions are as a result of the curse on him.”
Madam Ajediwe appealed to members of the public, organizations and benevolent individuals for food, clothes and support to reconstruct the family house.
