In a bid to enhance digital administrative efficiency and strengthen stakeholder relations, the Bolgatanga Municipal branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has made a vital tech donation to the Upper East Regional Education Directorate.
The GNAT leadership, led by the Municipal Chairman, Mr. Solomon George Gbenga, visited the directorate on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The visit served a dual purpose: to officially welcome the new Regional Director of Education to the region and to engage directly with staff on pressing educational issues.
To support seamless administrative operations, the Bolga GNAT District donated a high-speed internet router to the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Database (IPPD) Unit.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Gbenga emphasized that the donation is part of the association’s broader commitment to supporting effective education delivery in the region. “This router will facilitate the smooth, swift transmission and processing of crucial documents from the Regional Office to the National level, reducing delays in teacher data management,” Mr. Gbenga stated.

Beyond the donation, the courtesy call provided a valuable platform for constructive dialogue. The GNAT executive team held a fruitful interaction with union members stationed at the Directorate, listening firsthand to their professional concerns and discussing systemic issues currently affecting teachers.
Mr. Gbenga reaffirmed the association’s unwavering dedication to its workforce, noting that progress relies on mutual collaboration. “GNAT remains deeply committed to the welfare and professional growth of teachers. Together with the directorate and all educational stakeholders, we will continue to support robust education delivery while aggressively working to improve working conditions for our members.”
The gesture and dialogue mark a positive step forward in fostering a strong partnership between the teaching union and the regional educational directorate for the academic year.
